Sands of IWO JIMA movie showing at BOH, Nov. 14

     ATTENTION. . . If you haven't seen the 1949 movie "SANDS of IWO JIMA starring JOHN WAYNE . . . NOW YOU CAN at Brooklyn Opera House. Brooklyn Ruritan Club & Harold "Pie" Keller Memorial Project Committee is providing this chance to better understand the battle of IWO JIMA and BROOKLYN's Navtive Cpl. Keller's part of one of many historic moments during World War II.
    Keller's daughter, Kay Keller Maurer, and Iowa Historian Brent Westemeyer, who discovered the Keller was among the six Marines to raise the American Flag at Iwo Jima, will provide a short discussion and answer questions after each showing. Admission is a freewill offering. Showtimes are 1 and 4 p.m.
