Grinnell American Legion hosting Veterans 5K on July 8

​       The inaugural Grinnell Veterans 5K is slated for Saturday, July 8. The race is a chip timed, family friendly race hosted by the local Grinnell American Legion. 
       Runners are encouraged to wear patriotic gear. Strollers and kids are welcome, as there will be awards for a variety of age groups, in addition to the top Male and Female runners.

        The race will start on the north side of Central Park at 8 a.m., with runners heading north on Broad Street toward Grinnell College. Runners will loop around the Grinnell College campus, going east on 8th Avenue, turning north on East Street and back west on 10th Avenue. Runners will head back south on Broad Street, turning east on 3rd Avenue. The final stretch has runners turning north on Summer Street and returning to Central Park on 4th Avenue.
