Updates on July 6 situation in Montezuma

               The Journal heard back from Mahaska County Sheriff Russ Van Renterghem regarding the July 6 situation at 816 S. 3rdSt. in Montezuma.
               According to Sheriff Van Renterghem, the Mahaska County warrants for Dennis J. Bunn Jr. were for two counts of forgery, two counts of identity theft and one count of theft in the fifth degree. These charges were filed by an officer from the Oskaloosa Police Department.
            Following his arrest, Mr. Bunn was taken to the Mahaska Health (Oskaloosa) Hospital where he received treatment for superficial cuts on his head. After receiving medical treatment, he was taken to the Mahaska County Jail where he remains incarcerated on $26,000 bond.
