Members of the Montezuma City Council presented outgoing councilmember, Frank Brownell III, owner of Brownells Inc., with a plaque in honor of his 54-years of service during a standing-room-only reception at city hall on Monday, Dec. 16. Jacki Bolen, council member and soon to be mayor, noted during the presentation that when Brownell joined the council, one of the first orders of business was the establishment of the Montezuma Gas Company. Following the presentation, a number of business owners, town leaders and community members shared stories and reflected on Brownell’s service to the city and community. Many took time to say a kind word and send along well-wishes. Brownell began his term on the council in January 1966.
