 The Poweshiek County Farm Bureau honored a number of area 4-H’ers and FFA members with Showmanship Awards at the 2020 Poweshiek County Fair. The names of the Junior, Senior and Winners Showmanship honorees were put in a drawing and one winner in each animal category received one of four different gifts. Gifts included a show box, animal cage, animal waterer or belt buckle. This is the third year that the local farming and community organization has offered this program. “It’s neat to see the participation grow and the hard work that these kids put into being their best in the showring,” noted Farm Bureau President, Tom Cheney. “Poweshiek County Farm Bureau is proud to recognize the kids’ performance, knowledge and commitment for their project.” Following are the winners: Poultry – Breckyn Brand; Horses – Breckyn Brand; Goats – Peyton Tindle; Sheep – Braxton Brand; Beef – Brooke Conover; Cavy – Alexis Kephart; Rabbits – Jase Aldridge; Swine – Will Slagle.
