It was an historic afternoon in the Montezuma High School North Gym on Friday, Nov. 15 as senior Shateah Wetering signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the University of Iowa beginning with the 2020 season. Shateah’s parents, Justin and Shiloh Wetering, numerous family members, friends, teammates and classmates were on hand to witness the event. Wetering, a 6-0 forward for the Bravettes and Coach Janel Burgess, verbally committed to Iowa and head coach Lisa Bluder two years ago. “I just always knew from the get-go really that I wanted to go here,” Wetering told Hawk Central in an earlier interview. “I love the atmosphere here. It’s really nice.”
