Makaela Meyer, a 2020 graduate of Montezuma High School, has officially committed to Upper Iowa University in Fayette to continue her education along with her cheer and dance career. Joining Makaela at the signing were her parents, Jason and Jodi Meyer, her grandparents, her cousin, Dakota Henry, and Montezuma Cheer Coach Debbie Iverson. The event took place at Montezuma’s Badger-Gabriel football field on Sunday, May 17.
“I am planning on majoring in Elementary Education with endorsements in special education,” said Makaela. “I am very excited to go to UIU to have an experience farther from home. I am also excited to make new friends in cheer and dance.”
“We can't wait to see what the future holds for her as a Peacock,” added her mother, Jodi.
