Montezuma Braves play tough in 94-68 loss to New London

​   Eddie Burgess finished with 557-yards and 7 touchdowns in the season-ending loss to the New London Tigers on Friday, Oct. 25 at Badger-Gabriel field. The Braves wrapped up the 2019 season with a 6-3 record.
    On the receiving end of Burgess’ passes was Cole Watts with 12 receptions, 391-yards and 5 touchdowns. Trey Shearer had 6 receptions, 97-yards and 2 touchdowns. He also finished with one rushing touchdown on 3 attempts and 19-yards.
     Burgess finished with 2 touchdowns on 14 attempts and 106-yards on the ground.
Brayden Arendt had 4 reception and 69-yards and rushed for 7-yards on 3 attempts. Burgess had one fumble recovery.
    Burgess finished the game with 12 solo tackles and 6 assists while Brian Diaz knocked some heads with 5 tackles and 9 assists. Arendt had 3 solo tackles and 4 assists.
     Connor Van Zee heard his name called through the game with 5 solo tackles and 3 assists. Arendt finished with 3 solo tackles and 4 assists.
     Owen Cook kicked off 11 times for 353-yards and Shearer had 4 punts for 166-yards. His longest went for 47-yards.
      Arendt had 9 kick-off returns for 126-yards. Shearer had 4 kick-off returns for 10-yards and Watts finished with 1 kick-off return for 16-yards.
     New London’s Shane Summerfield finished the game with 8 touchdowns and 448-yards of offense on 32-rushing attempts in the win. Caydin Wahls finished with 192-yards, 3 touchdown on 21 rushing attempts.  
      Cabe Carter had one receiving touchdown, a 22-yarder.
