In the short time the Friends of the MPL have been organized, the board of directors has been working to fulfill their mission to provide support for the library’s programs and resources through volunteerism and philanthropy; promote community awareness of programs and resources and encourage a lifelong love of reading and learning. They have received monetary donations that have helped provide snacks for the library’s summer programs, helped provide prizes for the summer reading program, provided t-shirts for the children’s tie-dye event held in June, purchased books, and they’ve been able to purchase some children’s seating with grant monies they recently received.
