Montezuma's Elise Boulton competed in the 2019 Iowa State Cross Country Championship Meet on Saturday, Nov. 2. The meet, held at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, took place on a cold November day, but the times themselves were brisk as well.
Running in her third consecutive state meet, Boulton finished with her quickest time, running with a completed time of 20:52. The time of 20:52, good for 43rd out of 139 runners in the race, is the fastest Montezuma girls 5k time run at the Fort Dodge course, and the second fastest course Boulton, a junior, has completed in her career. The race marks the end of the 2019 season, but a bright 2020 season for Boulton and both Montezuma boys and girls cross country teams is ahead.
