Family, friends and traditions are important to those who attend, show livestock and enter projects at the Poweshiek County Fair. A special tribute was held following the swine show at this year’s fair in honor of the late Ed Fenner of Grinnell. Ed passed away from cancer on April 11. In honor of Ed, who had a passion for swine and was a fixture at many Poweshiek County Fair swine shows, the Fenner family awarded a memorial chair to Megan Mauss for showing the Grand Champion Market Hog. Megan is the daughter of Dan and Nicole Mauss of Grinnell. Pictured are, from left: Noah Wiley, Joe Fenner, Charly Fenner, Emily Fenner, Diana Fenner, Megan Mauss, Elana Fenner and Madelyn Fenner. “Megan started out showing with Ed’s family and now she is showing with Joe’s family,” said Dan.
