The Deep River Helping Hands 4-H Club met at the home of Mikayla Henry on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. for the October meeting. We welcomed new members: Marley and Tinsley Stowell, Sophia and Lucy Semprini, and Lauryn Larmore.
The club decided to make tie blankets for the nursing home residents as a community service project at our meeting in January. We also discussed ideas for possible guest speakers.
Presentations were given by Madison Cheney (Mummy mason jar candle) Mikayla Henry (Talked to us about three of her rabbit projects for the fair) Vivian Cook (Tootsie Pop Ghost) Emily Roberts (Halloween dirt cup, and witch hat treats).
After the meeting, club members were divided into groups for a scavenger hunt around town. Teams had to find seven clues, and complete fun challenges. The winning team was driven by Jen Stowell and assisted by Lisa Huff, with 4-H members: Sawyer Tindle, Jordan Ranfield, Ellen Cook, and Sophia Semprini.
After the scavenger hunt, the club enjoyed a potluck supper back at the Henry's.  A huge thank you goes out to the Michelle and Pat Henry for all their work with the scavenger hunt and for hosting us at their home.
Also, thank you to Megan Tindle and family for all their help, too!
Our next meet will be at the Deep River Methodist Church on Jan. 5 at 4 p.m.
