Burgess was a four-year starter and three-year captain for the Braves on the gridiron. He finished his prep career with a 26-5 record and 12,581 passing and rushing yards and 137 touchdown passes in his career. In basketball, Burgess, an all-conference performer all four years, has led the Braves to a 77-11 record so far with more games to follow. He earned four conference titles, three state tournament appearances and one state championship and holds the school career rebound record with 927 and counting while wearing the blue and white. He holds the single game rebound record with 24 and single season rebound record with 293. He also plays baseball and golf for the Braves and acted in the fall musical for three years.
