Bravettes Volleyball beat L-S in quarterfinal play, advance to semifinals

     Will it be trick-or-treat for the Bravettes as they take on the 24-6 North Tama Redhawks in Class 1A, Region 4 semifinal play at North Tama Thursday night, Oct. 31. The Bravettes advanced after beating the Lynnville-Sully Hawks, 3-0, in quarterfinal play on Monday, Oct. 28.
      The Bravettes went 25-20, 25-12 and 25-19 against the Hawks.
      Ash Krousie finished the night with 15 serves, 2 aces, 9 digs, 10 kills and 26 attack attempts. Dylan Holland finished with 15 serves, 3 aces, 1 dig, 1 kill and 10 attack attempts. Katie Reynolds was perfect in the serving department with 14. She had 6 digs and 12 assists in the game. Waverly Roorda finished with 13 serves, 2 digs, 20 assist, 6 kills and 11 attack attempts. Shanae Wetering finished with 20 attack attempts and Maddie McKeag had 12 digs. Shelby Conger finished with 10 serves, 8 digs, 9 kills and 18 attack attempts.
      Thursday night’s winner will play the winner of the BCLUW vs. Des Moines Christian game at Marshalltown High School on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Game time is 7 p.m.
 
Bravettes Volleyball goes 3-0 against BGM to advance to quarterfinal play
   The Montezuma Bravettes Volleyball squad took care of business, besting BGM in 3 sets to advance to quarterfinals tournament play at home Monday night.
     The Bravettes went 25-16, 25-13 and 25-10. The victory ends BGM’s season.
     Shelby Conger finished the game with 15 serves, 1 ace, 5 digs, 5 kills and 11 attack attempts. Dylan Holland finished with 14 serves, 3 aces, 2 digs, 3 kills and 7 attack attempts. Ash Krousie finished with 12 serves, 2 aces, 6 digs, 11 kills and 24 attack attempts. Katie Reynolds finished with 12 serves, 1 aces and 8 digs. Korrinn Kehoe had a good night with 11 serves, 6 digs, 4 kills and 10 attack attempts. Waverly Roorda finished with 10 serves , 1 ace, 3 digs, 5 kills and 9 attack attempts.
