Braves Record  2-0 with Win Over Colo-Nesco

          Braves quarterback Eddie Burgess threw five touchdown passes, leading Montezuma to a 50-21 win over Colo-Nesco at Badger-Gabriel Field Friday night, Sept. 6. The Braves are at 2-0 on the young season with the win.
            Burgess finished the night with a 196 total yards, going 7-9 in the passing department. He also had 19-yards rushing on three attempts. The Braves had five players score passing touchdowns and two more players score on the ground.
Brayden Arendt had six rushes for 92 yards and one touchdown on a 43-yard scamper. Kodie Strong finished the game with one rushing touchdown of 7-yards.
Ben Jorgenson finished with two receiving touchdowns, his longest was a 65-yarder. He finished with 78 yards. Trey Shearer finished with 77-yards and two touchdowns, his longest being a 45-yard scamper. Cole Watts had three receptions for 52-yards and one touchdown. His longest was a 27-yarder.
            Owen Cook went 6 for 6 in the PAT department. Cook also had eight kick-offs for 280 yards. Sheared had one punt of 37-yards.
            Strong lead all defensive players with six tackles and four assists while Jorgenson finished the game with five solo tackles and three assists. Joey Kercheval had four solo tackles and three assists.
            Next up for the Braves is a home game against Winfield-Mount Union. Game time is 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.
