2020 Poweshiek County 4-H/FFA revised schedule

​The Poweshiek County Fair Board has made the decision to hold the 2020 Poweshiek County 4-H/FFA Fair in a show and go format. It was felt this was the best procedure for keeping fair exhibitors, volunteers, fair family members and the general public safe.
Following is the basic schedule:
 
Thursday, July 16
7 – 9 a.m. – Poultry Check In
7:45 a.m. – Flag Raising Ceremony – exhibit building patio
8 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Dog Agility Show – 30 minutes following agility will be obedience classes in the Showring
1 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Poultry Show followed by Clover Kids Poultry Show
3 p.m. – Fair Queen Judging followed by Queen Crowning & Little Miss announcement (not open to the public)
 
Friday, July 17
8 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Horse Show – Halter Classes. One half hour following Halter Classes, Horse Performance judging will take place. Limited Horse Games will follow that. There will be no additional horse games on Saturday.
 
Saturday, July 18
7 – 8 a.m. – Goat Weigh/Check In
8 – 9 a.m. – Sheep Weigh/Check In
10 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Bottle Lamb Conference Judging
11 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Meat and Dairy Goat Show followed by Clover Kids Bottle Lamb/Goats. The 4-H/FFA Sheep Show follows the Goat Show.
 
Sunday, July 19
7:30 a.m. - 4-H/FFA Bottle Calf Conference Judging
7 – 8:30 a.m. – Beef Weigh/Check In
10 a.m. – Noon – Rabbit and Cavy Check In
10:30 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Bottle Calf Judging – Showring
11 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Beef Show followed by Clover Kids Bottle Calf Show
3 p.m. – 4-H/FFA Rabbit Show followed by Clover Kids Cavy Show. The 4-H/FFA Rabbit Show follows the Cavy Show. The Clover Kids Rabbit Show closes out the day -Proline Building
 
Monday, July 20
6 – 8 a.m. – Swine Vet Check In (no unloading pigs before they are checked by fair vet)
6 – 9 a.m. – Swine Weigh In
11 a.m. – 4-H/FFA Swine Show
