Montezuma Braves take care of business with 41-12 homecoming win over Southeast Warren

​    Southeast Warren scored the first touchdown to go up 6-0, but the glory was only for a brief moment as Montezuma took control of the game scoring all four quarters, beating the Warhawks, 41-12, in the homecoming game on Friday, Sept. 24.
    Eddie Burgess, who leads the state with 41 touchdowns this season, finished the game with 151 yards on 12/16 passing. In the ground game, Burgess was also a force to be reckoned with, rushing for 174-yards on 28 carries and 5 touchdowns. His longest was a 29-yard scamper. In finished the game with 14 tackles and 2 interceptions for 31-yards.
     Masin Shearer finished the game with 80 yards on six receptions. Connor Van Zee finished the game with 2 receptions for 39-yards and went 39-yards on the ground on 9 carries.
    Owen Cook finished with 19-yards on 2 receptions. Camden Michalek finished with 2 receptions for 13-yards. Cook finished the game with 6 kickoffs for 270-yards.
    On defense, Zach Bennett and Martavious Knox, had 10 total tackles each with 5 being solo. Van Zee finished with 5.5 tackles including 4 solos. Brett Plants and Gabe Wearmouth both had 4 tackles on the evening.
      Van Zee had 1 return for 19-yards and Garrett Watts has 1 return for 14-yards.
      Next up for the Braves is a home game against Twin Cedars at Badger Gabriel. Game time is 7 p.m.
