Braves open season at home with 79-48 win over North Mahaska

     Trey Shearer scored 24-points, including a 3-pointer, while Cole Watts added 22-points, in the 79-48 home opener win for the Braves over SICL foe and neighboring North Mahaska on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
     Watts made 6 field goals on 13 attempts while Shearer finished with 9 field goals on 12 attempts.
    Eddie Burgess chipped in 14 points and finished with 11 rebounds, 6 defensive and 5 on offense for the Braves in the win. He had 5 steals in the game. Brydon Henning and Brayden Arendt each had 6 points in the game, both players hitting 3-pointers. Masin Shearer finished with 5-points and freshman Gavin Strong finished with 2-points and one blocked shot.
 
Braves take down Colfax-Mingo, 81-46

    The Braves traveled to Colfax-Mingo on Friday, Dec. 6, bringing home the 81-46 win to improve to 2-0 on the young season. Trey Shearer led all scorers with 25-points. He made 9 field goals on 12 attempts and hit two 3-pointers. Eddie Burgess finished with 16-points and 12 rebounds on the defensive side of the ball. He made 6 field goals on 8 attempts and finished the game with 4 steals. Cole Watts chipped in 14-points, making 6 field goals on 13 attempts. He had 7 defensive boards.
     Masin Shearer finished with 15-points, hitting 5 field goals on 6 attempts. Brayden Arendt finished with 6 points while Magurie DeJong added 3 points and Gavin Strong had 2-points and 4 steals.
 
     Next up for the Braves is a home game against HLV on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
