Area youth brave the cold to see Santa and Mrs. Claus

        The cold weather may have slowed down area youngsters stopping to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Deep River American Legion Building on Sunday, Dec. 14, but it was still a great day.
      Every youngster that stopped had their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus and received a gift bag and free town money.
         The event was hosted by the Deep River American Legion Auxiliary.
      “We’re always thankful that Santa shows up with toys and goodies for all the kids that were naughty or nice,” said Jacki Bolen with the Deep River American Legion Auxiliary. “Santa is very forgiving and we love the chubby guy.”
