Open house hours & overview of BGM new cell phone policy

      BGM Junior & Senior High School will be open from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21 (same date/times as the elementary school). Teachers and support staff will not be present, but the building will be open if students want to pick up their schedules in the library or drop off items in their locker.
         Families and Students - There will be two optional meetings with Shane Ehresman, BGM Junior & Senior High School Principal, to provide an overview of the new cell phone and electronic device policy - Use of Personal Electronic Devices by Students (BGM Board Policy 502.11). The BGM policy is required based on a new law passed by the Iowa legislature and signed by Governor Reynolds. The meetings will be held Thursday, Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 23 at 8:30 a.m. in the BGM auditorium. Each meeting will last approximately 30 minutes depending on questions. Prior to the meeting, students and families are encouraged to review the new policy in the 2025-2026 BGM 7- 12 Student Handbook (page 19). The handbook is located on the BGM school website.
