Parker The Grinnell FFA Chapter wrapped up the 98th State Leadership Conference held April 19 - 21 at Iowa State University in Ames with several top honors. Ag Sales Leadership LDE Aiden Wolfe was the state champion in the 2026 Iowa FFA Ag Sales Leadership Development event. Twelve individuals participated in this event. Participants in the Ag Sales Leadership Development Event were required to sell an agricultural product to one of the event judges. The purpose of this event is to prepare FFA members in developing skills and techniques important toward becoming successful salespersons of agricultural products. Experience the Action Grinnell FFA’s Experience the Action Leadership Development Event team brought home second place honor and a gold rating at this year’s state conference. Team members included Lauren Louden, Maggie Dayton, Alyssa Peterson, Keaton Iverson, Jamison Hidlebaugh, Conner Adkins and Skylar Moyes. Experience the Action team members developed enthusiastic presentations that marketed Agricultural Education and FFA. This program serves to inform and educate the general public regarding the benefits and activities of Ag Ed/FFA programs. Ag Sales Team The Grinnell FFA Chapter Ag Sales Team earned third place honors and a gold rating at this year’s convention. Aden Wolfe finished in 10th place individually. Team members included: Aden Wolfe, Trenton Huls, Micah Loomis and Zane Iverson. FFA teams from 78 chapters participated in this year's CDE designed to provide the students an opportunity to display their agricultural knowledge and skills in the area of Agriculture Sales. The 307 individuals who participated in the event each completed an objective test, made a sales presentation, and performed a customer relations practicum. All team members worked together to prepare a marketing plan and make an oral presentation of the plan to the judges. FFA Creed Speaking Grinnell’s Breckyn Brand earned eleventh place honors and a silver rating in the Creed Speaking Leadership Development Event at this year’s conference. Breckyn was one of 18 FFA members from across the state to compete in the competition. This event is designed to develop leadership and the ability to appear before groups by seventh through ninth grade students as they become members of the FFA. This event recognizes outstanding FFA members for their ability to present the FFA Creed from memory and answer questions on the meaning and purpose of the FFA Creed. The event is just one way members can develop their ability to communicate in a powerful, organized and professional manner. Ag Biotechnology CDE The Grinnell FFA Chapter Ag Biotechnology CDE team earned third place honors and a gold rating. Two members finished in the top 10. William Schalmo finished in sixth place and Isabel Rubendall finished in eighth place. Team members included Isabel Rubendall, Rylee Mauss, William Schalmo and Gracie Kaufman. FFA teams from 65 chapters participated in this year’s Ag Biotechnology CDE which was designed to provide the student an opportunity to display their agricultural knowledge and skills in the area of Biotechnology. The 249 individuals who participated in the event completed several activities including a general knowledge exam and an identification activity. The team members also collaborated in a team activity relating to biotechnology principles. The 99th National FFA Convention & Expo is Oct. 21-24 in Indiana  Grinnell FFA member Aiden Wolfe is shown with his FFA Advisor Ashley Wolfe, Aiden’s mother.
