GFD Live Fire Demonstration on Oct. 10

Ever wondered what you should do if a cooking oil fire starts in your kitchen? Or what makes an electrical fire different?
      Come see it for yourself!
The Grinnell Fire Volunteer Association – Recruitment & Retention Committee is hosting a Live Fire Demonstration to end Fire Prevention Week - Friday, Oct. 10, 11 a.m., at the Grinnell Fire Station, meet by our West garage doors. Free parking along Spring Street
This is a great opportunity for our community to:
See live fire scenarios in a controlled training environment
Learn what to do and what NOT to do when faced with an oil fire
Learn about electrical fire hazards and proper response
Meet and get to know your local volunteer firefighters
Ask questions and learn more about what we do
Firefighters aren’t always going to be standing right next to you when an emergency starts. Knowing how to react in those first few moments can make a difference!
And while you’re there, come meet the volunteers behind the gear! This event is also a chance to learn more about volunteering with the Grinnell Fire Volunteer Association and what it means to be part of our department.
Bring the family, bring a friend, and bring your questions!
      Prevent. Learn. Support. Our Community.
